Daily Fitness Hacks

It’s safe to say that most of us aren’t completely satisfied with our current level of fitness. If you are I tip my hat to you but if not then have no fear, we have put together for you a list of 10 simple ways you can improve your fitness on a daily basis and some are easier than you might think…

1. Walk or cycle to work.

Not only is this one of the most significant ways to improve your physical health but it will also do wonders for your mental well-being too. Don’t we all wish we spent more time outdoors? Well now is your chance.

2. Take the stairs.

Ok yes, we all have that lazy voice inside our heads that instantly presumes we’re going to take the elevator but if you can push through and prove it wrong then you could burn so many more calories every day, with the added bonus of knowing that your butt is going to look amazing for it.

3. Dance the night away.

Finally, a fitness hack we can really get our teeth in to and enjoy! This is a perfect one for all of you night owls out there because you could potentially be burning hundreds of calories as you dance away in a club – without even realising. For those of you that aren’t such fans of the nightclub scene then don’t worry, there are plenty of fitness classes out there such as Salsa and Zumba, that burn just as much (if not more) fat.

4. Always have your gym bag on you.

I bet you never took yourself as the kind of person that would make a spur of the moment visit to the gym? However, you would be surprised at the mental inspiration seeing your gym bag can give you. Also, if you have the kind of job that will allow you to pop down to the gym at lunch or if a meeting gets cancelled then it’s a no-brainer.

5. Do your workout whilst watching television.

When working out, most of us are looking for the perfect distraction and this normally comes in the form of very loud music blasting through our headphones in the gym. Little did you know, the perfect diversion is waiting for you in the comfort of your own home. We really suggest putting on something that will draw you in and grip your attention and then you’ll be very surprised to know how many calories you’ve burnt without realising it.

6. Drink more water.

Even though it seems like this point is just a standard for all health and fitness lists, it really is relevant to this one because drinking more of it is something you can do every day, which will consequently lead to better hydration and all-round fitness.

7. Make sure you’re getting enough sleep.

Your workout is never going to be as productive as it could be if you aren’t getting enough sleep. You’d be surprised at the improvement you could make even by giving yourself just an extra half an hour.

8. Keep an eye on the latest fitness bloggers.

We are truly blessed to be living in the age when fitness bloggers are so keen to give us the latest information on how we could be achieving the body of our dreams. And even if you don’t want to pay for a subscription, many of them give free tips and advice on their social media accounts, which is something you can check in on every day.

9. Download a fitness app.

Another great thing about the age we live in is that there are countless fitness apps to help inspire us on a daily basis. If you are the competitive type then we highly recommend ‘Fitocracy’ which is designed so that you can gamify your workouts. If you are more of a social media sharer then ‘Jog.FM’ is a great place to share your workouts and workout playlists with like-minded people.

10.Do something – even small – every day.

We are all individuals with individual needs and no one knows our bodies better than us. Therefore, if you can commit to doing at least one thing per day (no matter how big or small) that will benefit your health and fitness then you will see great improvements to your physical and mental well-being.
